Basic training for welding coordinator

At the end of this training (8 lessons), participants will have:

  • an answer to the question: what should a welding coordinator know and be able to do?
  • increased knowledge of welding processes.
  • greater understanding of ensuring the quality of materials and their physical and mechanical properties.
  • act in accordance with EN-ISO 3834, make LMBs, (WPSs) and visually assess the weld for imperfections.

What will you learn during this training?

During this training, you will learn about the following topics:

  • Lesson 1:

    NEN-EN-ISO 14731 Welding coordination - Tasks and responsibilities 

  • Lesson 2:

    Introduction to the various welding processes. Knowledge expansion on oxyfuel welding, MIG/MAG, sub-powder welding, electrode welding, etc.

  • Lesson 3:

    Welding method qualifications (LMK) (ISO 15607, 15610, 15611, 15612, 15613, 15614)

  • Lesson 4:

    Welder qualifications (LK) (ISO 9606-1)

  • Lesson 5:

    Welding method descriptions (LMB) (ISO 15609-1)

  • Lesson 6:

    Welding inspection (ISO 5817)

  • Lesson 7:

    Requirements for establishing conformity of structural components made of steel or aluminium (EN1090-1)

  • Lesson 8:

    Technical requirements for steel components or finished products (EN1090-2)

Tonny Clement & Jan Smeets

For many years, Tonny Clement has worked as a teacher in mechanical engineering, mechanical techniques and welding. He is an experienced welding technician and has been a welding certifier for 20 years. He founded a welding and metal company and sold it years later. Truly an all-round welding expert.

Jan Smeets has more than 10 years of hands-on experience in the metal industry. He supervised projects in various sectors: from waste and agro industry and earth-moving equipment to projects in the sheet metal industry from various materials. Jan is originally an electromechanical engineer and also recently obtained his IWE diploma.

For whom is this training relevant?

This training is for welding professionals who are already working as a welding coordinator or want to become a welding coordinator.

When will the training take place?

The training consists of 8 lessons. The next training will take place on Tuesdays from 13:00 to 17:00 on the following dates:

All participants must be in possession of the NEN bundle 18

Yes, MCB is officially registered as a training institute with the following institutions: 

  • STAP training register (NL) 
  • OOM (NL) 
What does this training cost?

This training costs €1500,- per 8 lessons. However, with MCB's subsidy options through OOM or STAP, you can be reimbursed a large part of this amount.
