Magnelis®, a better corrosion-resistant alternative

Thanks to its innovative coating, Magnelis® zinc-magnesium sheet steel is resistant to corrosion in the most demanding environments. The great strength of this protective layer lies in its composition: the coating consists of zinc alloyed with 3.5% aluminum and 3% magnesium. The magnesium ensures that the steel is protected against corrosion for up to 25 years in normal environments.

Magnelis® is highly formable, easily weldable, provides excellent paint adhesion during processing, and reduces tool contamination. It is available with standard environmentally friendly E-Passivation®. Magnelis® steel sheets are widely used in environmental containers, livestock housing, façade cladding, roofing, trailer construction, solar panels, silo construction, and air conditioning.

Expansion of Magnelis® range

MCB is expanding its product range with S350GD+ZM310 M-A-C and S250GD+ZM310 M-A-C, each available in 3 sizes. All dimensions are decoiled at MCB.

S350GD+ZM310 M-A-C S250GD+ZM310 M-A-C

- 3000 x 1500 x 1,5 mm
- 3000 x 1500 x 2 mm
- 3000 x 1500 x 3 mm

- 4000 x 1500 x 1,5 mm
- 4000 x 1500 x 2 mm
- 3000 x 1250 x 6 mm

The metallic steel coating of Magnelis® ensures optimal corrosion resistance: Magnelis® is up to 10 times more resistant to corrosion than galvanized steel and even offers self-healing protection on cut edges – which are typically the first areas where corrosion occurs.

It is the most cost-effective alternative to the batch galvanizing process. Since less zinc is used compared to pure zinc coatings, choosing Magnelis® is also the more environmentally conscious choice.

The unique advantages of Magnelis®

  1. Superior corrosion resistance
A unique chemical composition provides better resistance to corrosion than standard hot-dip galvanized steel.

  2. Self-healing protection on cut edges
The substrate is covered with a thin zinc-based protective film with magnesium, which prevents corrosion reactions on exposed cut edges.

  3. An alternative to the batch galvanizing process and other metals
Reliable flatness, surface quality, and cut-edge protection ensure a better end product.

  4. More environmentally conscious
Magnelis® uses less zinc compared to pure zinc coatings.

  5. Excellent processability
Magnelis® offers excellent formability during welding and forming.
