SCSN is a network and a data standard that makes the exchange of information in the supply chain more efficient, enabling companies to exchange data with each other more easily, more quickly and more reliably. 

Het SCSN is een open initiatief dat zo veel als mogelijk gebruikt maakt van en aansluit bij bestaande industriestandaarden. SCSN bestaat uit enerzijds een berichtenstandaard waarin is afgesproken welke informatie in wat voor formaat wordt gedeeld en anderzijds een technische infrastructuur waarin is afgesproken hoe de informatie op een veilige en gecontroleerde manier kan worden gedeeld met alle SCSN-partners.
