Building & Environment
At MCB, we are actively committed to sustainability and improving our work environment. For instance, over 5,000 solar panels have been installed and 88% of our lighting has been converted to LED. Additionally, we participate in the Energy Collective Schaapsloop to further reduce our environmental impact. Our dedication to a more eco-friendly work environment is also evident from recent investments, such as new glass partitions in the office garden at our headquarters, a newly insulated roof, and the installation of new sliding doors at 10 locations to enhance climate control in our company halls.

Green establishment in Deventer
The new MCB Direct branch at the A1 business park in Deventer aligns perfectly with MCB's sustainability ambitions. The building is constructed from reusable prefab concrete elements, is gas-free, fully equipped with LED lighting, and equipped with enough solar panels to be self-sufficient. Heating and cooling are managed through a heat pump and dry-cooler system. Rainwater is also infiltrated on-site. Given its proximity to a nature reserve, the building's design required nature-inclusive features. Thus, it boasts a green sedum roof, birdhouses, insect hotels, and green walls. This green aesthetic not only benefits wildlife but also enhances a pleasant working environment for employees.
Energy Collective Schaapsloop
Located at the roundabout near Leenderweg and John F. Kennedylaan is the SmartFlower Solar, an initiative of the Energy Collective Schaapsloop, of which MCB is a member. MCB also sponsors the SmartFlower. The objective of the energy collective is to present "De Schaapsloop" as a sustainable industrial estate by achieving energy neutrality by 2040. Many companies invest in sustainability without it being clearly visible to the public. The SmartFlower is an innovative (solar) solution that combines an artistic all-in-one design with intelligent technology to generate clean, sustainable energy. By installing the SmartFlower, we make a statement that businesses at De Schaapsloop embrace sustainability.
Esdec solar panels
To reduce our CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030, we have made several key decisions. We have installed solar panels on the roof of our new warehouse. This allows us to generate 100% of our electricity consumption ourselves.
